AbbVie is committed to supporting independent, high-quality evidence-based education with the most up-to-date information on current, new, and emerging therapies. This helps to expand knowledge, competence, and performance to improve quality of care for patients and support the elimination of health care disparities in underserved patient populations.

In addition to grant funding requests received and reviewed throughout the year, we may periodically announce a Call for Grants that will align to specific needs and identified educational gaps.

RESOURCES AND UPDATES

Announcement: AbbVie Independent Education Grant Management System Planned Upgrade. The upgrade will take place during the end of year grants system shutdown October 1, 2025, through January 4, 2026.

The deadline to submit New Fall/Winter Grant Applications and Reconciliations is September 30, 2025.

In 2024, AbbVie implemented the AbbVie IME Provider Network. AbbVie only considers IME (Independent Medical Education) grant requests submitted by providers who are part of the AbbVie IME Provider Network. Submissions from providers who are not part of the network will not be considered for support from AbbVie until the next cycle. Please note: The AbbVie Provider Network does not apply to independent patient education, fellowships, charitable donations, or responses to Calls for Grants. All registered users may continue to submit grant requests in these areas.

The IE team will accept 2026 Fellowship submissions beginning January 5, 2026, through March 20, 2026. Funding decisions will be made by May 2026. Please note that the AbbVie Grant Management System is currently closed and will open on January 5, 2026.
